How many wedding photos do you get — and when?
For a full wedding day, 400 to 800 edited images is normal, delivered in four to six weeks. Anyone promising 3,000 photos within a week has either not selected or not edited.
Why more is not better
A long day produces several thousand frames. Most of them are variants of the same second: closed eyes, half-finished gestures, a look that has not arrived yet. Handing all of them over is not generosity — it leaves the selecting to the couple, and that takes evenings.
What the time after the wedding goes into
- Reviewing: going through several thousand frames once, completely.
- Selecting: removing duplicates and failed frames.
- Editing: keeping colour and brightness consistent across the whole day — morning light in a room and evening light in a hall are nothing alike.
- Delivery and backup: building the gallery, storing the files twice.
What you should have in writing
A minimum number of edited images, a delivery deadline, and how long the gallery stays online. Three lines in a contract that settle everything if there is ever a dispute — and whose absence says more about a supplier than any gallery does.
